Double-Blind Peer Review Model

Latitude Xero. Journal of Multidisciplinary Research (LXJMR) employs a double-blind peer review model to ensure the highest degree of objectivity. The identities of both authors and reviewers remain strictly confidential throughout the evaluation process.

Editorial Workflow and Average Timelines

  • Initial Desk Review:

    Preliminary assessment of manuscript scope, adherence to formatting guidelines, and mandatory plagiarism screening via Turnitin. Only manuscripts that meet these criteria proceed to external peer review.

    Average time to first decision: 15 to 25 days.
  • External Peer Review:

    A minimum of two independent external experts evaluate the technical and scientific merit of the research.

    Average review time: 60 days.
  • Decision and Publication:

    Final verification, typesetting, production, DOI assignment, and immediate publication upon acceptance.

    Average submission-to-acceptance time: 108 days.
Selection of Reviewers

Reviewers are selected based on their specific expertise and the absence of conflicting interests. Reviewers are international academics and researchers, ensuring that every manuscript receives a rigorous and impartial evaluation from external experts.

Conflicts of Interest

All participants (authors, reviewers, and editors) must disclose any financial, professional, or personal conflicts of interest. Reviewers are required to decline invitations if a personal or institutional connection to the authors exists.

Confidentiality

The peer review process is strictly confidential. Reviewers are prohibited from sharing or using unpublished research data. Under the double-blind model, reviewer identities are never disclosed to authors.

Appeals and Complaints

Authors may appeal an editorial decision within 14 days of receiving the decision notification. Appeals are reviewed by a senior editor or the Editor-in-Chief who was not involved in the original decision process.

Anonymization Requirement

To safeguard the integrity of the double-blind process, authors must remove all self-identifying information (names, affiliations, and grant details) from the main manuscript file. These details must only be provided in a separate Title Page during submission.

Note: The journal strictly adheres to the Core Practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Editorial decisions are based solely on scientific merit and are completely independent of Article Processing Charges (APCs) or waiver statuses.
