Digital Preservation Policies
All published articles are stored and preserved through repositories, institutional backup systems and digital storage mechanisms that guarantee the permanent conservation of the scientific production published by the journal.
PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) System
The journal uses the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) digital preservation system, developed by the Public Knowledge Project (PKP), which allows the secure, permanent and decentralized archiving of content published on the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform.
This system guarantees the preservation of scientific articles and contributes to the continuous availability of the contents in the event of technical failures, loss of information, technological changes or interruptions of hosting services.
Backup and Storage Systems (Redundant backups)
Editorial information, databases, production files and published content are periodically backed up by secure storage systems and institutional backups, with the aim of protecting the integrity, authenticity and availability of the journal's digital archives:
- All published articles are publicly archived through Zenodo, institutional repositories, and website backups to keep historical records accessible from the journal's website.
- Published articles can also be deposited in open access repositories and trust preservation platforms such as Zenodo and in institutional repositories to improve long-term accessibility.
- Each published article is assigned a persistent Digital Object Identifier (DOI) to ensure stable citation, discoverability, and permalinks.
Permanent access
The journal promotes open and permanent access to all its scientific contents, favoring the recovery, consultation, reuse, visibility and preservation of academic and scientific production at a national and international level.
Metadata Harvesting
The journal supports the OAI-PMH (Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting), ensuring that international indexing bots can accurately crawl and preserve our metadata.
Interoperability and international standards
Latitude Xero. Journal of Multidisciplinary Research uses international standards of interoperability and metadata management that facilitate the indexing, retrieval, preservation and dissemination of scientific content in repositories, academic search engines, directories and specialized indexes.
The journal maintains its commitment to digital preservation as part of its editorial and scientific responsibility, guaranteeing the availability of its contents for present and future generations.
