Latitude Xero. Journal of Multidisciplinary Research adheres to the international principles and standards of editorial ethics established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), promoting good scientific practices, academic integrity, editorial transparency and accountability in scientific publication processes.

The journal maintains a permanent commitment to the prevention of bad editorial practices, plagiarism, manipulation of data, fabrication or falsification of results, conflicts of interest and any conduct contrary to academic and scientific ethics.

Ethical Principles for Authors

Originality and plagiarism

The authors guarantee that the manuscripts submitted are original, unpublished and the result of their own intellectual production. They also assure that the work does not contain plagiarism, self-plagiarism, manipulation of information, fabrication of data or falsification of results.

All manuscripts may be subjected to academic similarity detection tools to verify the originality of the contents.

Exclusive Shipping

Authors agree not to simultaneously submit the same manuscript to other scientific journals while it is in the process of editorial evaluation in Latitude Xero. Journal of Multidisciplinary Research.

Redundant or multiple publications

Papers previously published, in whole or in part, in other scientific media will not be accepted, except in justified cases such as abstracts, academic papers, theses, preprints or preliminary documents duly declared by the authors.

Duplication of publications or simultaneous submission to several journals is an unacceptable ethical practice.

Citation and References

Authors must adequately acknowledge all sources, authors, and works used in the research. Any information, images, tables, graphics or copyrighted material must be correctly cited and referenced.

Using Graphs, Images, and Tables

When previously published figures, images, graphs or tables are used, the authors must have the corresponding authorizations for their reproduction and dissemination, being responsible for any breach related to copyright.

Authorship

Authorship should reflect only those who have made significant contributions in the conception, design, execution, analysis, interpretation, writing or scientific review of the manuscript.

All authors must approve the final version of the work and formally accept its submission to the journal.

Conflict of interest

Authors must declare any conflict of interest, financial, institutional, professional or personal relationship that may influence the results, analysis or interpretations of the research.

Likewise, they must report the sources of financing, sponsorship or institutional support received for the development of the study.

Corrections and retractions

In case of identifying relevant errors, inaccuracies or ethical problems in published works, the authors must immediately inform the editorial team to make the corresponding corrections, clarifications, expressions of concern or retractions.

Academic Accountability

The authors assume full responsibility for the scientific, ethical and legal content of the submitted manuscripts.

Likewise, they commit to respect the principles of academic honesty, scientific rigor, research integrity and respect for the diversity of theoretical, methodological and disciplinary approaches.

Collaboration with the editorial process

Authors must respond in a timely manner to the observations, corrections and suggestions issued during the stages of evaluation, review and scientific editing, actively collaborating with the development of the editorial process.

 

Ethical Principles for Reviewers

Contribution to editorial decisions

The peer review process is a key mechanism for ensuring the scientific, academic, and editorial quality of manuscripts published in Latitude Xero. Journal of Multidisciplinary Research.

The reviewers collaborate with the editorial team in making decisions on the acceptance, correction or rejection of the submitted papers, also contributing to the academic, methodological and scientific strengthening of the research through critical, constructive, objective and impartial observations.

Evaluations must be carried out within the scope of experience, competence and scientific specialization of each reviewer.

Respect for deadlines

The reviewers undertake to comply in a timely manner with the times established for the evaluation process.

If they do not have the necessary thematic expertise or are unable to complete the review within the established period, they must immediately inform the editorial team to ensure the continuity, quality and transparency of the editorial process.

Confidentiality

All manuscripts received for evaluation should be treated as strictly confidential documents.

The information contained in the works may not be shared, discussed or used for personal, academic, professional or commercial purposes without the express authorization of the editorial team.

Objectivity and impartiality

The scientific review must be carried out with objective, academic and ethical criteria, avoiding personal, discriminatory, offensive or disqualifying judgments towards the authors.

The opinions issued must be duly substantiated, technically supported and oriented to the scientific strengthening of the manuscript.

Likewise, reviewers must inform the editorial team about any substantial similarities, suspicion of plagiarism, duplicate publication, manipulation of data or ethical irregularity identified during the evaluation process.

Reference and source review

The reviewers should point out those relevant bibliographic references that have not been considered by the authors and that are essential to strengthen the scientific work presented.

They must also warn about possible significant coincidences between the evaluated manuscript and other publications, research or previously known documents.

Conflict of interest

Reviewers will only accept to evaluate manuscripts when there are no conflicts of interest of a personal, academic, institutional, professional, commercial or financial nature that may affect the objectivity of the evaluation.

Any information obtained during the review process must be kept strictly confidential and may not be used for one's own benefit or that of third parties.

Anonymous evaluation

The journal maintains an academic evaluation system under the double blind peer review modality.

In the event that the identity of the authors, institutional affiliations or any information that compromises anonymity is accidentally revealed during the process, the reviewer must immediately notify the editorial team so that the corresponding measures can be adopted and the integrity of the evaluation process is preserved.

Publication decision

The Latitude Xero editorial team. Journal of Multidisciplinary Research will guarantee the selection of specialized academic reviewers, with scientific experience and sufficient thematic competence to develop critical, objective, impartial and substantiated evaluations of the manuscripts received.

Editorial decisions on the acceptance, correction or rejection of papers will be based exclusively on the scientific quality, academic relevance, originality, methodological rigor, ethical integrity and thematic relevance of the contributions.

Honesty and editorial equality

The editors will evaluate the manuscripts without any type of discrimination based on gender, sexual orientation, religion, nationality, ethnicity, institutional affiliation, economic condition, political ideology or any other personal condition of the authors.

The editorial process will be developed under principles of equity, transparency, scientific integrity, inclusion, diversity and academic respect.

Confidentiality

The editors and members of the Editorial Committee undertake to maintain absolute confidentiality about the manuscripts received, as well as about the information related to authors, reviewers and evaluation processes.

No information related to the submitted works will be disclosed to third parties outside the editorial process, except with the express authorization of those involved or duly substantiated legal requirement.

Likewise, the journal will preserve the anonymity of the participants in the double-blind peer review process, in order to guarantee the integrity, impartiality and transparency of the scientific evaluation.

Conflict of interest

The members of the editorial team are committed to acting with academic independence, impartiality and professional ethics, avoiding any situation that generates real, potential or perceived conflicts of interest.

The editors will not use information, data, results or contents of the manuscripts received for personal, academic, institutional, professional or research benefit without the express written authorization of the authors.

When there is a conflict of interest, the editor involved will refrain from participating in the editorial management and decision-making related to the corresponding manuscript.

Respect for editorial deadlines

The editorial team will be responsible for ensuring reasonable and timely compliance with the established times for the processes of review, correction, editing, layout and publication of accepted articles.
