General Information
Latitude Xero. Journal of Multidisciplinary Research is an international scientific journal specialized in the dissemination of multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary research, aimed at the publication of original, unpublished and high-quality academic works in Spanish and English.
The journal aims to promote the advancement of scientific knowledge through the publication of research, reviews, essays and studies that integrate various areas of knowledge, encouraging academic dialogue, innovation, knowledge transfer and the generation of solutions to complex problems from multidisciplinary approaches.
Latitude Xero. Journal of Multidisciplinary Research is a peer-reviewed, open-access, annual publication, edited by Latitude Zero Publishing, aimed at researchers, teachers, professionals, graduate students and specialists from different scientific disciplines interested in the production, integration and dissemination of knowledge.
The journal applies a double-blind peer review system, guaranteeing standards of scientific quality, originality, editorial ethics, methodological rigor and academic relevance in each of the contributions received.
The journal maintains an immediate open access policy, allowing free and open access to all its contents under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license, favoring the democratization of knowledge, scientific collaboration and the international visibility of academic production.
APC (Article Processing Charges) Policy
With the purpose of guaranteeing the editorial sustainability, scientific quality, digital preservation and international projection of the journal, Latitude Xero. Journal of Multidisciplinary Research applies Article Processing Charges (APCs) only to manuscripts accepted for publication.
APCs cover fundamental processes associated with the scientific and editorial management of the journal, including:
- Editorial and administrative management of manuscripts.
- Coordination of the peer review process.
- Proofreading and technical revision.
- Layout and scientific layout.
- Assignment and maintenance of DOIs (if applicable).
- Digital preservation and maintenance of OJS platforms.
- Interoperability and academic indexing services.
- Scientific dissemination and international visibility.
- Technological maintenance and digital security.
The application of APC responds to editorial practices widely adopted by international open access scientific journals indexed in recognized databases, directories and scientific information systems.
The existence of APC does not influence editorial decisions or the scientific evaluation process, which is carried out under strictly academic, ethical, editorial quality, transparency and scientific independence criteria.
Publication Scope and Manuscript Coverage
2.1. Approach
Latitude Xero. Journal of Multidisciplinary Research publishes original scientific research related to various areas of knowledge, promoting multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary approaches that contribute to the advancement of science, innovation, education, technology, social sciences, health sciences, legal sciences, economic sciences, engineering and other related disciplines.
The journal has the following editorial sections:
Scientific Articles
It publishes original results of completed or ongoing research that provide significant knowledge in any scientific, technological, social or humanistic area.
Review Articles and Systematic Reviews
It includes literature reviews, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and state-of-the-art studies that identify advances, trends, and challenges in different fields of knowledge.
Case Studies
It presents applied research, institutional experiences, innovation projects and analysis of relevant cases with academic, professional or social impact.
Academic Essays and Theoretical Reflections
Space for critical analysis, conceptual discussion and scientific reflection from multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary perspectives.
Academic Reviews
Publication of critical reviews of books, technical reports, scientific works, specialized documents and recent publications of interest to the academic community.
Short Scientific Communications
It includes preliminary research reports, scientific advances, technological developments, innovative experiences or short academic contributions that provide relevant knowledge to the scientific community.
2.2. Scope
Contributions sent to Latitude Xero. Journal of Multidisciplinary Research must be original, unpublished and not in the process of simultaneous evaluation in another scientific journal or academic publication.
Manuscripts must present scientific relevance, methodological clarity, academic rigor and significant contributions to knowledge in any of the thematic areas addressed by the journal, promoting multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary approaches.
The journal accepts research that contributes to the development of natural sciences, social sciences, health sciences, legal sciences, economic and administrative sciences, education, engineering, technology, innovation, humanities and other related disciplines.
Manuscripts must have an approximate length of between 6,000 and 9,000 words, including abstracts, tables, figures, bibliographic references and annexes.
Bibliographic references should correspond primarily to up-to-date scientific literature from indexed journals, academic books, technical documents and other sources of recognized scientific quality.
The journal accepts the following types of documents:

Publication Frequency and Manuscript Submission Dates
3.1. Frequency
Latitude Xero. Journal of Multidisciplinary Research is an annual scientific journal, published by Latitude Zero Publishing.
The magazine publishes one issue a year, corresponding to the January-December period. The annual issue will be published during the month of January of each year, once the editorial process, the scientific evaluation, the correction of style and the layout of the accepted manuscripts have been completed.
3.2. Deadline for Submission of Articles
The journal makes a permanent call for the reception of manuscripts throughout the year.
The articles received will be submitted to the editorial and scientific evaluation process according to the order of reception and editorial availability.
Accepted manuscripts will be incorporated into the annual issue under preparation. In the event that the editorial capacity of the corresponding issue has been completed, the accepted papers may be scheduled for publication in the next annual volume, in accordance with the editorial planning and the decision of the Editorial Committee of the journal.
Editorial Process
4.1. Reception of Manuscripts
Manuscripts must be submitted exclusively through Latitude Xero's OJS platform . Journal of Multidisciplinary Research.
Once the submission has been received, the Editorial Team will confirm receipt of the manuscript to the corresponding author within a maximum period of five (5) business days.
Confirmation of receipt does not imply acceptance of the manuscript for publication or the automatic initiation of the peer review process.
4.2. Preliminary Editorial Review
Within a maximum period of fifteen (15) business days after receipt of the manuscript, the Editorial Committee will carry out a preliminary evaluation in order to verify:
- Thematic relevance to the multidisciplinary approach and scope of the journal.
- Compliance with editorial guidelines for authors.
- Originality and unpublished manuscript.
- Formal, methodological and academic adequacy.
- Quality of scientific writing and structure of the document.
- Compliance with ethical principles of publication.
- Correspondence with the documentary typologies accepted by the journal.
As a result of this preliminary review, the manuscript may be:
- Accepted for peer review.
- Returned to authors for formal corrections or editorial adjustments.
- Rejected for non-compliance with the editorial, ethical or thematic requirements established by the journal.
In case of requiring preliminary adjustments, the authors will have a maximum period of seven (7) calendar days to submit the corrected version. Failure to comply with this deadline may result in the manuscript being temporarily archived or excluded from the current editorial process.
4.3. Double-blind Peer Evaluation
Manuscripts that pass the preliminary editorial review will be submitted to external scientific evaluation through the double-blind peer review system, guaranteeing the anonymity of both authors and reviewers throughout the arbitration process.
Each manuscript will be evaluated by at least two external reviewers who are specialists in the subject matter addressed by the research and with demonstrable experience in the corresponding area of knowledge.
The evaluation process will last approximately between thirty (30) and forty-five (45) calendar days, and may vary depending on the availability of reviewers and the thematic complexity of the manuscript.
The evaluation will consider, among others, the following criteria:
- Originality, innovation and scientific contribution of research.
- Methodological rigor and validity of the results.
- Theoretical solidity and argumentative quality.
- Thematic relevance and academic relevance.
- Topicality, quality and sufficiency of bibliographic references.
- Clarity in the presentation of results, discussion and conclusions.
- Contribution to the advancement of scientific knowledge in their respective disciplinary area.
- Multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary value of research.
Reviewers may issue one of the following recommendations:
- Accept without modification.
- Accept with minor modifications.
- Reconsider after major modifications.
- Reject.
In the event of a substantial discrepancy between the opinions issued by the reviewers, the manuscript may be sent to a third external evaluator, whose report will contribute to the final editorial decision.
The final decision on the acceptance or rejection of the manuscript will correspond to the Editorial Committee, considering the evaluation reports and compliance with the observations made by the reviewers.
4.4. Evaluation Results
Based on reports issued by external reviewers, the Latitude Xero Editorial Committee. Journal of Multidisciplinary Research may make one of the following editorial decisions:
- Accepted for publication.
- Accepted with minor modifications.
- Reassessable with major modifications.
- Rejected.
The editorial decision will be communicated to the corresponding author within a maximum period of ten (10) working days after receipt of the evaluation reports.
Editorial decisions will be based on scientific, academic and ethical criteria, considering the opinions of the reviewers and the relevance of the contribution to the objectives and scope of the journal.
4.5. Authors' Corrections
When the manuscript requires minor modifications, the authors will have a maximum period of ten (10) calendar days to submit the corrected version together with a response letter detailing the modifications made.
When major modifications are requested, the authors will have a maximum period of twenty (20) calendar days to submit a new version of the manuscript and the corresponding response document to the comments of the reviewers.
The Editorial Committee will verify compliance with the observations made during the evaluation process and may:
- Approve the corrected version for publication.
- Request new modifications.
- Submit the manuscript again for external evaluation.
- Reject the manuscript when the observations have not been satisfactorily addressed.
Failure to respond by the authors within the established deadlines may lead to the closure of the editorial process and the archiving of the manuscript.
4.6. Final Editorial Decision
Once the corrected version of the manuscript has been reviewed and compliance with the observations issued during the evaluation process has been verified, the Latitude Xero Editorial Committee. Journal of Multidisciplinary Research will issue the final editorial decision within a maximum period of fifteen (15) business days.
The final decision may consist of:
- Final acceptance for publication.
- Exceptional request for additional adjustments.
- Definitive rejection of the manuscript.
The final editorial decision will be officially notified to the corresponding author through the OJS platform and through the journal's institutional communication channels.
Editorial decisions will be adopted based on criteria of scientific quality, methodological rigor, academic relevance, ethical compliance and alignment with the journal's editorial objectives.
4.8. Publication of the Annual Issue
The annual issue of Latitude Xero. Journal of Multidisciplinary Research will be published during the month of January each year.
Accepted articles will be incorporated into the corresponding annual volume in accordance with the editorial planning, the availability of editorial space and the thematic organization established by the Editorial Committee.
The publication will be made in digital format through the official platform of the journal, guaranteeing open, permanent and immediate access to all published scientific content.
4.9. Publication Costs
The initial submission, the preliminary editorial review and the scientific peer review process are free of charge for the authors.
However, manuscripts that are accepted for publication will be subject to the payment of Article Processing Charges (APC), in accordance with the journal's current editorial policies.
APCs contribute to the sustainability of editorial processes and associated services, including:
- Editorial and administrative management of manuscripts.
- Coordination of the peer review process.
- Proofreading and technical revision.
- Layout and scientific layout.
- Metadata management and academic interoperability.
- Digital preservation of content.
- Maintenance of the publishing platform.
- Scientific dissemination and international visibility.
- Indexing and academic positioning services.
The existence of APC does not influence editorial decisions or the results of the scientific evaluation process, which is carried out under strictly academic, ethical, technical and editorial quality criteria.
APC's current rates will be published and updated on the journal's official website, ensuring transparency and access to information for authors and readers.
Promotion and Dissemination of Manuscripts
Latitude Xero. Journal of Multidisciplinary Research promotes the maximum visibility, dissemination and academic impact of published scientific works, encouraging the open circulation of knowledge and scientific exchange between national and international academic communities.
The journal recommends and encourages authors to actively disseminate the final published version of their articles, as well as to promote the visibility of their research and the journal itself in various academic, scientific, professional and digital spaces.
The dissemination of manuscripts may be carried out through:
- Social networks and digital media, such as Facebook, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, Instagram and other scientific dissemination platforms.
- Institutional repositories of universities, research centers and thematic open access repositories.
- Academic and scientific networks such as ResearchGate, Academia.edu, Mendeley, Zenodo, Kudos and similar platforms.
- Academic identification profiles and scientific metrics such as Google Scholar, ORCID, ResearcherID, Scopus Author ID, Dimensions, PlumX, and other scientific visibility systems.
- Personal or institutional websites, academic blogs, scientific observatories and pages of research groups.
- Dissemination among scientific communities, researchers, professionals and specialists through electronic media, academic bulletins, scientific events and other spaces that favor the reading, discussion and academic citation of published works.
The journal promotes open access and the free circulation of scientific knowledge, considering that the responsible dissemination of research results strengthens academic collaboration, interdisciplinarity, international scientific exchange and the social impact of research production.
Also, Latitude Xero. Journal of Multidisciplinary Research promotes the use of persistent identifiers, academic profiles and scientific visibility tools that contribute to the international positioning of published articles, authors and research results.
Interoperability Protocols
Latitude Xero. Journal of Multidisciplinary Research incorporates international interoperability protocols and scholarly communication standards that facilitate the visibility, indexing, collection, preservation, and dissemination of its scholarly content in national and international scientific information systems.
The journal uses the Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting (OAI-PMH), which allows published metadata and content to be automatically collected by institutional repositories, academic directories, databases, digital libraries, scientific search engines, and specialized indexing systems.
The implementation of the OAI-PMH protocol strengthens interoperability between publishing platforms, increases the international visibility of articles and favors the integration of the journal with digital preservation services, open access and exchange of scientific information.
Likewise, this system facilitates the dissemination, retrieval, discovery and reuse of published scientific content, promoting greater accessibility, academic impact and international scope of research.
