Edunexis. Journal of Education & Social Research is an international scientific journal specialized in education, pedagogical sciences, educational innovation and social sciences, aimed at the dissemination of original, unpublished and high quality academic research in Spanish and English.
The journal aims to promote the development of scientific knowledge through the publication of research, reviews and academic reflections that contribute to the strengthening of education, interdisciplinary research and social transformation from local, regional and international perspectives.
Edunexis. Journal of Education & Social Research is an annual open-access, peer-reviewed journal published by Latitude Zero Publishing for researchers, teachers, practitioners, graduate students, and specialists interested in the educational and social sciences.

With the purpose of guaranteeing editorial sustainability, scientific quality, digital preservation and the international projection of the journal, Edunexis. Journal of Education & Social Research applies Article Processing Charges (APCs) only to manuscripts accepted for publication.
APCs cover fundamental processes associated with the scientific and editorial management of the journal, including:

2.2. Scope
Contributions must be original, unpublished and not in the process of simultaneous evaluation in another scientific journal.
Manuscripts must present scientific relevance, methodological clarity, academic rigor, and significant contributions to the area of study.
The journal accepts papers with an approximate length of between 6,000 and 9,000 words, including bibliographic references, tables, figures and appendices.
References must correspond primarily to indexed and updated scientific literature.

Publication Frequency and Manuscript Submission Dates
3.1. Frequency
Edunexis. Journal of Education & Social Research is an annual scientific journal, published by Latitude Zero Publishing.
The magazine publishes one issue a year, corresponding to the January-December period. The annual issue will be published during the month of January of each year, once the editorial process, scientific evaluation, correction and layout of the accepted manuscripts have been completed.
3.2. Deadline for Submission of Articles
The journal will make an annual call for the reception of manuscripts.
The ordinary period for receiving articles will be open from January 1 to June 30 of each year.
Manuscripts received outside this period may be considered for the next annual issue, in accordance with the editorial planning and decision of the journal's Editorial Committee.
Editorial Process
4.1. Reception of Manuscripts
Manuscripts must be submitted exclusively through the journal's OJS platform.
Once the submission has been received, the Editorial Team will confirm receipt of the manuscript to the corresponding author within a maximum period of 5 working days.
Confirmation of receipt does not imply acceptance of the manuscript for publication.
4.2. Preliminary Editorial Review
Within a maximum period of 15 working days after receipt of the manuscript, the Editorial Committee will carry out a preliminary evaluation to verify:
- Thematic relevance to the focus and scope of the journal.
- Compliance with editorial guidelines for authors.
- Originality and unpublished manuscript.
- Formal and academic adequacy.
- Minimum quality of scientific writing.
- Correspondence with the documentary typologies accepted by the journal.
As a result of this preliminary review, the manuscript may be:
- Accepted for peer review.
- Returned for formal corrections.
- Rejected for non-compliance with editorial or thematic requirements.
In case of requiring preliminary adjustments, the authors will have a maximum period of 7 calendar days to submit the corrected version.
4.3. Double-blind Peer Evaluation
The manuscripts approved in the preliminary review will be submitted to external scientific evaluation through the double-blind peer review system.
Each manuscript will be evaluated by at least two external reviewers specialized in the corresponding subject area.
The arbitration process will last approximately between 30 and 45 calendar days.
The evaluation will consider criteria related to:
- Originality and scientific contribution.
- Methodological rigour.
- Theoretical and argumentative quality.
- Thematic relevance.
- Actuality and relevance of bibliographic references.
- Clarity of results, discussion and conclusions.
- Academic contribution to the field of education and social sciences.
In case of discrepancy between the opinions of the reviewers, the manuscript may be sent to a third external evaluator.
4.4. Evaluation Results
Based on the reports issued by the external reviewers, the Editorial Committee may adopt one of the following decisions:
- Accepted for publication.
- Accepted with minor modifications.
- Reassessable with major modifications.
- Rejected.
The editorial decision will be communicated to the corresponding author within a maximum period of 10 working days after receipt of the evaluation reports.
4.5. Authors' Corrections
When the manuscript requires minor modifications, the authors will have a maximum period of 10 calendar days to submit the corrected version.
When major modifications are requested, the maximum period for submitting the new version will be 20 calendar days.
The Editorial Committee will verify compliance with the observations made by the reviewers and may submit the manuscript again for external evaluation if it deems it necessary.
4.6. Final Editorial Decision
Once the corrected version of the manuscript has been reviewed, the Editorial Committee will issue the final editorial decision within a maximum period of 15 working days.
The final decision may consist of:
- Final acceptance for publication.
- Exceptional request for additional adjustments.
- Definitive rejection of the manuscript.
The final editorial decision will be officially notified through the OJS platform and the journal's institutional email.
4.7. Proofreading, Editing and Layout
Accepted manuscripts will go through a process of:
- Style correction.
- Technical and spelling review.
- Standardization of bibliographic references.
- Review of tables, figures and annexes.
- Layout and editorial layout.
This stage will last approximately between 15 and 30 calendar days, depending on the editorial volume of the annual issue.
The journal may make formal adjustments without altering the scientific content approved by the authors.
4.8. Publication of the Annual Issue
The annual issue of Edunexis. Journal of Education & Social Research will be published during the month of January each year.
Accepted articles will be incorporated exclusively in the corresponding annual issue in accordance with the journal's editorial planning.
4.9. Publication Costs
The initial submission and preliminary evaluation of the manuscripts are free of charge for the authors.
However, articles accepted for publication will be subject to the payment of Article Processing Charges (APCs).
The APCs contribute to the maintenance of the editorial processes, technical review, style correction, layout, editorial management, technological maintenance, digital preservation and academic visibility of the journal.
The existence of APC does not influence editorial decisions or the scientific evaluation process, which is carried out under strictly academic, ethical and editorial quality criteria.

The journal maintains a permanent commitment to the prevention of bad editorial practices, plagiarism, data manipulation, conflicts of interest and any conduct contrary to academic and scientific ethics.
Ethical Principles for Authors
Originality and plagiarism
The authors guarantee that the manuscripts submitted are original, unpublished and the result of their own intellectual production. They also assure that the work does not contain plagiarism, self-plagiarism, manipulation of information or falsification of data.
All manuscripts may be subjected to academic similarity detection tools to verify the originality of the contents.
Exclusive Shipping
Authors undertake not to simultaneously submit the same manuscript to other scientific journals while it is in the process of editorial evaluation in Edunexis. Journal of Education & Social Research.
Redundant or multiple publications
Papers previously published, in whole or in part, in other scientific media will not be accepted, except in justified cases such as abstracts, academic papers, theses or preliminary documents duly declared by the authors.
Duplication of publications or simultaneous submission to several journals is an unacceptable ethical practice.
Citation and References
Authors must adequately acknowledge all sources, authors, and works used in the research. Any information, images, tables, graphics or copyrighted material must be correctly cited and referenced.
Using Graphs, Images, and Tables
When previously published figures, images, graphs or tables are used, the authors must have the corresponding authorizations for their reproduction and dissemination.
Authorship
Authorship should reflect only those who have made significant contributions in the conception, development, analysis, writing or scientific review of the manuscript.
All authors must approve the final version of the work and accept its submission to the journal.
Conflict of interest
Authors must declare any conflict of interest, financial, institutional or personal relationship that may influence the results or interpretations of the research.
Likewise, they must report the sources of financing or institutional support received for the development of the study.
Corrections and retractions
In case of identifying relevant errors or inaccuracies in published works, the authors must immediately inform the editorial team to make the corresponding corrections, clarifications or retractions.
Academic Accountability
The authors assume full responsibility for the scientific, ethical and legal content of the submitted manuscripts.
They also undertake to respect the principles of academic honesty, scientific rigor and respect for the diversity of theoretical and methodological approaches.
Collaboration with the editorial process
Authors must respond in a timely manner to the observations, corrections and suggestions issued during the process of evaluation and scientific editing.
Ethical Principles for Reviewers
Contribution to editorial decisions
The peer review process is a fundamental mechanism to guarantee the scientific, academic and editorial quality of the manuscripts published in Edunexis. Journal of Education & Social Research.
The reviewers collaborate with the editorial team in making decisions on the acceptance, correction or rejection of the papers submitted, also contributing to the academic and methodological strengthening of the research through critical, constructive, objective and impartial observations.

Respect for deadlines
The reviewers undertake to comply in a timely manner with the times established for the evaluation process.

Confidentiality
All manuscripts received for evaluation should be treated as strictly confidential documents.
The information contained in the works may not be shared, discussed or used for personal, academic or professional purposes without the express authorization of the editorial team.
Objectivity and impartiality
The scientific review must be carried out with objective, academic and ethical criteria, avoiding personal, discriminatory or disqualifying judgments towards the authors.
The opinions issued must be duly substantiated, technically supported and oriented to the scientific strengthening of the manuscript.
Likewise, reviewers must inform the editorial team about any substantial similarity, suspicion of plagiarism, duplicate publication or ethical irregularity identified during the evaluation process.
Reference and source review
The reviewers should point out those relevant bibliographic references that have not been considered by the authors and that are essential to strengthen the scientific work presented.
They should also warn about possible significant coincidences between the evaluated manuscript and other known publications.
Conflict of interest
Reviewers will only accept to evaluate manuscripts when there are no conflicts of interest of a personal, academic, institutional, professional or financial nature that may affect the objectivity of the evaluation.
Any information obtained during the review process must be kept strictly confidential and may not be used for one's own benefit or that of third parties.
Anonymous evaluation
The journal maintains an academic evaluation system under the modality of anonymous peer review.
In the event that the identity of the authors, institutional affiliations or any information that compromises anonymity is accidentally revealed during the process, the reviewer must immediately inform the editorial team.

The journal maintains a zero-tolerance policy against plagiarism, self-plagiarism, falsification of data, manipulation of information and any practice contrary to scientific and editorial ethics.
Manuscripts must present an acceptable level of originality. In general terms, works that exceed 20% of total similarity, excluding bibliographic references, correctly identified citations, methodological coincidences and expressions of common use in the scientific area, may be rejected or returned to the authors for correction and review.
Likewise, no individual source should exceed significant levels of unjustified coincidence that compromise the originality of the manuscript.
The authors are responsible for ensuring that the works submitted are original, unpublished and that all the sources used are duly cited and referenced in accordance with the journal's editorial standards.
In case of plagiarism, self-plagiarism or bad ethical practices before or after publication, the journal may proceed with the suspension of the editorial process, rejection of the manuscript, retraction, correction or withdrawal of the published article, in accordance with the international guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
